Last few days ive been consistantly about 30 minutes in or thereabouts randomly getting disconnected from server back to the server select screen, to say the least this is being quite a killer, sometimes I'll get an hour stretch or so that it doesnt do it. Is it purely a net thing, because if it was memory failing it would dump me to desktop?

Any ideas if its a random port its trying to send on of the list of like 12 thats killing me, or something else? Using gimpy MCaffe atm, but BF is on exceptions. And before this last week few days on conquest server no issues.

Sometimes it dumps smooth other times it jitters for a second before it goes back to the server screen and it has the pop up saying, Connection to server lost.

Is this happening only on the TG server or on other servers as well?

Theres the issue of I only play the conquest server or not at all for the most part ( Have other games I play if its full) Might have to spend some time on Armory city or something, though dont look forward to 2-3 hours of random idiot servers.

Are you using wireless internet?!?! If that's the case some Wireless routers have a feature that ALWAYS look for the best channel avialable for connection...which is great for regular websurfin, etc. But for gaming when switching to that other channel will actually disconnect for a fraction of a second then reconnect, so for games this is TERRIBLE. But I think this is a feature for most Belkin routers and not Linksys...anyways check your settings and look at your connection for consistency.

I have been having similar issues for the past week. I'll get through a game maybe two but then get the "problem with connection" freeze and then boot to menu. When I update the conquest server is showing red and at 2500 ping rate. This has not happened to me on any other server I have played on. I am not on wireless I am connected directly to the router. Any ideas? Do I need to update something that I have not heard about? Thanks for any suggestions or help. ( I have the 1.4 update)

I get kicked out with a conection lost issue. EA said this is the first they have heard of this and it is a video issue. I informed them this just started after there new patch. and now when trying to play battlefield 2 I get the same thing. are any of you also having this?

If you havent tried fixing the radial error I would recommend starting with that. It fixes everything lol!

hehe, I once was disconected from a server and it read 7,142,729,451 ping.

I think one of the servers was unplugged or something.

Then again, this was because my router was overheating, could that be your problem?

i've been getting the connection to server lost message almost right after i connect to a server. i can't even finish setting up my kit load-out and i'll get booted to the menu. this is happening consistently on multiple servers, even after deleting the radial file.

is there anything else i can try?

just an update. i've reinstalled BF2142 + 1.40 update and i'm still having the same problem.

i don't know if this is related, but i had just recently upgraded my computer, going from an athlon 64 to an athlon 64 dual core, and went from my corsair 2x512 to OCZ 2x1024. i was able to play when i upgraded the RAM, but once i changed the processor on friday, i don't think i was able to play anymore.

any ideas?

ok. i found the solution. apparently, bf doesn't work well with dual core processors so all i had to do was start bf2142, then go to the task manager, right-click on the bf process and set the affinity to a single core.

it's kind of a pain in the butt, but i don't expect much from EA.

what a friggin joke.

i'm getting the same problem again. seems like the affinity fix didn't really fix my problem at all. i'm not sure what happened that made me able to play online last night, but i'm pretty damn livid right now....
