Your connection to the server lost

Hey all,

I have been getting this message "Your connection to the server has been lost".

1. Started with Comcast now with FIOS.
2. Started with old computer built new one.
3. Two different copies of BF2142.
4. My roommate and I both get kicked at the same time, even if playing on different servers. We are playing the 1.4B but this started with 1.25.
5. ISP, routers, system, game all different.

I don't believe it's the game but something with my connection. I also loose internet at the same time. I have run a ping test and it works great 10 times then nothing. I have run the speed test also and gotten 15.5m several times on the test ran it again and it disconnects. If it disconnects I can disable my connect and then enable it and I get my connection back.

I am at a lost here. Any ideas?

I know the feeling. I uninstalled BF2 for this very reason. Random disconnects where I would loose the complete internet connection. The game server, teamspeak, and skype. All at the sametime and with no reason. I was never able to figure it out. It doesn't really happen with 2142 though. Probably only once or twice total. BF2 would happen all the time though. Let me know if you ever figure out what the problem was. I'm guessing it has something to do with one of the hops to the server. Perhaps in your case, you and your and using the hop that is going down.

Are you connecting to your router or modem via wireless or hardwired?

I am/have been connected both ways. I used a wireless and hardwired with two different routers, and hardwired direct to the modem.

Do you lose connection to everything you're doing? All applications using the Internet, including TeamSpeak, etc? Or is it just Battlefield that disconnects?

If your only losing connection in BF, check your processes your running. If I have torrent or p2p running I get disconnected every 5 seconds. But if I close out of them I still have to shut down the program via cltrl/alt/del.
