This is baffleing me to no end, everything was fine intill I installed the new 1.4 patch. Now I have no voip in game voice. I have reinstalled 4 times now and after I use the 1.4 I loose the voip. I even have left the key binds are the default set up and nothing. Sometimes the mic icon flashes yellow with a lighting bolt though it when the comm key is pressed, other times nothing shows up. Whats even wierder is the in game mic test shows that my mic is working. Any idears would be very welcome.
I know I talk real bad and I am hard to understand, but sheese, I still like to be able to tell the squad "watchout" and small stuff like that.
Oh in case your wondering this is how I install. 2142, patch 1.25, patch 1.4.
I didn't bother with installing northern strike.

do you have the input level of the mic up? Go to your volume control settings, under the recording controls make sure mic is selected and the slider is up. This is based on WinXP, I have no experience with Vista as of yet.

I would also recommend uninstalling your old sound driver and re-installing the latest version, even if you had the latest version already. Sometimes that corrects errors that accumulate.

when I installed 1.4, I did not change any settings,and on the other reinstalls I set averything like I usally do, and this last time I left everything at default. And yes I have even tryed it with the settings maxed.
Gloop, I did that too at noon today, I have the latest FXI drivers out. if this means I should try a totaly clean install of XP, then I'll be shredding the 2142 dvd and to hell with it. I'm not going to do that, the install on my gameing rig is only two weeks old and all I use the machine for is gaming.
Like I mentioned, everything works fine under the 1.25 patch.
voip works fine in BF2-PR

If ya wondering whats on that machine, all of the guild wars epsiods, BF2 for PR .6, and 2142 and half-life 2 with epsiods 1 and 2

The first shot is of the secure comms VoIP (Commander to Squad Leaders), were you a commander or SL? The second one usually means that you are overdriving the mic (too loud).

Before what happened to me (see post above), I was having this exact same issue. Unfortunately I now can't load any maps at all now...

Thanks fellows. I did one last reinstall of 2142, I went though the registery (which I didn't do before) and deleted the left behind keys, Now my voip works. Maybe it was a corrupted reg key ???? I have no idear but this time around it is working.
