OK, I know this sounds stupid, but, HOW DO I USE THE 1.4 PATCH?!?!?!?!??!

Usually with a new patch it just installs itself, I boot up the game and its got the new patch, but not this time. The only thing I've tried is dragging the patch icons onto the BF2142 icon, and nothin...

This probably has such an obvious answer, but I'm afraid my lack of knowledge with computers is once again frighteningly terrible.

Edit: there maybe something wrong with me. I downloaded the patch the 1st time, and it said it couldn't save it. I went to retry, and it downloaded fairly quickly and was saved. So maybe there is something wrong with the patch I downloaded? It keeps coming up with the message saying that there is a new version of 2142 when I load up, and it also says v1.25 in the bottom right corner.

There was a lot of problems with the patch. Down load from here FILESHACK Seems to be the one most people had success with and try from there. Good luck.

Yay Fileshack for having the correct patch!

A lot of sites say they have 1.40 final patch when what they really have is one of the previous betas with a new name. Even the final patch off of EA's own site was no damn good. It was quite a horrible scene on Tuesday night.
