Manually needing to update PB?

Well, I have been kicked from the game quite a few times with a PB message. Can't remember exactly what it was the message said though. Anyway I know the server kicks non-supporting members when a SM joins when the server is full but this is not the case. The server was not completely full and I have been kicked a bunch in the past 3 days and when refreshing it might have 42/52 people on and I can join but instantly after joining I get kicked again with that PB message and doing a refresh shows maybe the same amount of players, might be one or two difference but not close to full yet. So I had to go and do a manual update on PB in order to play for any length of time before finally getting kicked for a SM.
Seems like everyday I need to manually update PB, I am wondering why and if I am the only person that has this issue and how can I get PB to automatically update instead of me doing it myself all the time now?

Re: Manually needing to update PB?

Usually after I kept getting punkbuster kicks I manually updated my PB, but you should only have to do that rarely.

Instead:
1. Check you 3rd party programs in your "Processes" (Though they may not be running in your toolbar)
ex: p2p programs, antivirus/hacking, text clients sometimes interfere, torrents, and other stuff that are constantly processing information

Some times PB will give a message stating "3rd Party Program detected" or it'll just say Punkbuster. Weird.

Re: Manually needing to update PB?

All programs that can be safely shutdown in the task manager gets shutdwon before playing and nothing has changed. I have the same programs running as what I did a year ago. So that SHOULD not be the problem, I never rule anything out completely though.
I was able to play last night without any problems, so I am hoping that the last manual update took care of the problem. Before I manually updated the last time I completely deleted the PB folder in BF2142 folder. So maybe that took care of it.

Re: Manually needing to update PB?

Thats good, I have the PB fix as well in Radial Fix.

"Just in case that doesn't work (So far it worked for everybody) heres the second:
1. Go to start then run
2. In run type services.msc
3. Scroll down and look for Pnkbst A and B
4. Make sure they say started, if not right click it and allow it to start.
5. Go to my computer, then to your 2142 folder, and delete the folder named 'pb'"

Which sounded like you did!

Re: Manually needing to update PB?

Yeah, the PB1 and PB2 are running in the task manager when I go into to shut down some services before I play BF2142. All seems ok now, I had seen something in another post that made me think that when I joined the server I may have been joining a bugged squad which then led to me being kicked for bugged/squadless. That had never crossed my mind till I read that post and I am more inclined to believe that is what happened. Seems like there is a lot of bugged squads all the time. Think EA will ever put out a game with out any problems? LOL
