Re: Resolution

You only need 1.4 and I beleive you should have no problem setting that screen resolution in the the in-game options menu.

Re: Resolution

If the resolution you want cannot be found in the video options, you'll have to modify the shortcut that starts 2142 by adding +szx 1280 +szy 1024 to the target line.

Re: Resolution

Ahh right...thanks Draeh. Good catch indeed. Here's a little more about that subject.

Re: Resolution

It works for my 1680 x 1050 resolution. As there is no true widescreen support in the BF series, the field of view is the same as the non-wide just a little scrunched. See this thread on widescreen support for discussion and link to an app that "corrects" the field of vision.

Re: Resolution

Mine looks like this:

Code:
"C:\Games\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +playNow 1 +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050
If you go to the video options menu, it still won't show this resolution. If you take a screenshot with something like FRAPS, you'll see that the resulting screen resolution is what you set on the command line.

Re: Resolution

The 8xAA is a mystery to me. I have never figured out why I can't set it.

Re: Resolution

Yesterday, I changed my game resolution from 1280 x 768 to 1440 x 900. I honestly couldn't tell the difference. Is that small a jump not worth the extra strain on the graphics card? I have a 1680 x 1024 monitor, but I just don't think my graphics card could do it. It's a MacBook Pro with a 2.2 GHz processor and a GeForce 8600M GT 128 MB graphics card, running Vista through Bootcamp. I have an external, 22" monitor, by the way.

Re: Resolution

I personally feel there is a difference, but to each their own. Just try it and see how you feel about it.

Re: Resolution

Here's a strange one: Since I started using the 'Widescreen fixer' I've been getting this odd bug during titan mode.

Basically, EVERYTHING is black, ie. you can see nothing. Except your HUD and your arms+weapons.

It's not just the titan turning black, everything is black, as if my screen is off.

Do you think it's the fixer or something else?
