northern strike help

hey guys im having a hard time figureing how to activate the game
i got it downloaded form ea downloader but when try to activate the game the msg occorues
"This game requires that your EA classic screen name is entitled to the original base game. Please ensure that you select an EA classic screen name that meets these requirements."

I also downloaded northern strike from EA download and had to uninstall 2142, reinstall, then install northern strike, then the newest patch to get everything working. But I gather you can not even install northern strike because of the classic screen name message. Have you emailed EA?

i figured it out
i had to log in to my ea account then import your username from 2142. i had to really think what that msg ment

Glad you figured it out. I think EA does cryptic messages to keep everyone guseeing including themselves.

yeah i know the support page isnt that helpful ,too much regestering in games nowa day
i wish every company would do what valave did with steam.. i have yet to have any problems with steam

I'm having the same problem, but not having much luck. When I try to activate it tells me I need a new Classic EA Screen name or link to an existing name or choose from a list below.

the list below is blank, if I try to link to my ea account name it says that screen name is already linked to my EA account. I thought that was the whole point ? "NOTE: If you are activating a game that requires a base game to play (example: booster pack, expansion pack, stuff pack, etc.), you must select a persona that has played the base game. This will ensure that the persona used for the base game has access to the features and content activated by the game code. "

The only games I have from EA are BF2 and BF2142, the only account I have with them is the same name for both games.

Any ideas?

or do I just go and create a new name?

I've emailed EA support guys. Looking at my ea.com account, it looks like I'd bought NS via download when it came out too.

But this is all on a fresh install, no idea where that download went, still only a fiver for it this time.

I'll let you know what EA come back with.
