Install proplem

Ok, I just bought Battlefield 2142. I popped the CD in and it didn't autostart. So I opened My computer and clicked the CD icon. This is the error I got:

"The Procedure entry point GetCurrentPrcCess could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

I opened the CD window and tried to run the setup.exe file and had no response. I also tried this in Safe Mode with the same results.

I have a Core2 2GHz , 2GB DDR2, 20GB free HDD space, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS, SB Audigy 2, Sony DVD burner, all on Windows XP with all updates. I have gone through and updated all my drivers.

Just don't know what else to do....

Re: Install proplem

Sounds like an internal error.... Kernel32.dll

Thats a system file, so your best bet would be to reinstall windows, don't forget to back up what you need!

Re: Install proplem

That does sound strange. What did you install recently?
Just to be safe run a spyware and virus checker.
There is also a way to boot Windows with your install CD and do a 'repair'. That will copy back the original files.
Does everything else still work?

Re: Install proplem

Simple question, can you open any other CDs or DVDs? If this error only occurs with the 2142 DVD, then I would bet it is bad.
