Ok, after a roughly 3 month break due to being ultra busy and entertaining a side affair w/ cod4 xbox (not mine, but I must get the pc version now) I'm trying to get back into 2142 a bit, and still have that urge to reinstall bf2 for a slight change of pace. ( And so far hella rusty from TF2/COD 4 as far as aiming/twitchyness : \)

My problem is that I am almost always on ventrillo talking with other folk, but also need voip in game, atm cant recall if it's the default or not, but my in game voip is left alt, same as my vent, I'd rather keep the ventrillo as left alt as it works best when I'm doing other things also. But whenever I change VOIP to V ( which I thought at one point I had it set at), I get into the server or have tried changing then restarting the game, it keeps defaulting back. I've tried just closing the options window and using the back button, and as far as I saw there was no "ok" or save changes button. Idea's? What obvious thing am I missing?

Arghhh this garbage, just gave it another go, changed the key, hit back, go look at server screen, go back to options to see if it reverted, it's still on my new key, go back to server window and back one more time, join the server..... and using the default, disconnect from server, look at options..... back to the damn default.

Indeed, no accept changes at least on my client, nor does it have a pop up asking when I leave the screen. Part that drives me nuts is that it stays changed if I leave options and come back, but if I join server or restart game it defaults.

I dunno I had that problem for a while months ago (couldn't bind my middle mouse button). I just ignored it for a while then cam back and it worked.

I believe you can change them using the in game console but I'm not really sure.

well the "V" button is defualt for ingame voip, so if you just set the controls to default it should stay.

If that doesnt work you could edit the Controls.con file in your profile folder. It is at My Documents\BF2142\Profiles\0001\Controls.con or some location like that.

Got home just now, and was thinking during the day was there a config file I could alter, and if so, mayhaps, I'd originally changed it to left alt, and that's why it keeps going back. ( Though means I had issues in the first place to have been changing something in the config. )


Edit: Well, finally gave up and did reset to default since V is apparently the default aha, just had to make a short list of other keys I had changed to remind me to change them, hope they stay changed after I fix them back...
