Good bye Direct X9!

Finally, my aging Sempron is about to be spruced up by a Radeon HD 2600XT. I have looking for months for an AGP card that can actually fit in my computer and Nvidia has been so rude to us AGP users by stopping at Series 7. The card I acutally found was Direct X 10 support! Once my dad orders that card, I am installing Battlefield 2142 and playing it the way it was meant to be.

Okay anyways these are my specs

AMD Sempron 3100 +
1535 Ram
Geforce 6600 DX9 >>>>> Radeon HD 2600XT DX10
Windows Vista Home Premium

Should this make a difference at all?

Don't tell me to get a new computer. I have heard that all the time on the internet. My cpu sucks and I know that but I can't buy one right now.

Yes, it should definitely help out. DX10 isn't really offering a huge performance increase over DX9 at the moment though.

Although it will make a massive difference to BF. I can play it with everything on max (except AA, it won't let me change it above 4x), and it will only lag during orbital strikes.

My machine doesn't lag for graphics at all including the orbitals. When you get the new card, don't be surprised to see your frame rates anywhere from 60-100. 100 is the max for the game engine, and the variation is due to network latency. Mine averages about 75.
