I want to add something to this. I was utterly unable to play 2142 for a while due to Punkbuster. Randomly in the game it'd kick me out with the helpful box saying "PUNKBUSTER" with an 'OK' button.

Turns out, I had a bad memory sector on my graphics card. For whatever reason, Punkbuster didn't like the data that was coming back from there (as it was corrupt) and would punt me for it.

What type of Graphics Card?
Did you have to Replace your Graphics Card?

- Someone asked me about it and I had them refer to this post and it didn't explain what to do!

Ya know, I've used a lot of these too, and it fixes the game for a bit then things go wrong. I'll go through which by now I memorized, but it won't fix the issue this time.

Hence, I am trying to figure out exactly how many different things in this game can cause it to crash. I believe with my Battlefield luck that the game just effing hates me and will always unless I sacrifice more hamsters!

Black Screen after 2142 Splash, then Crash (Nvidia 7 and 8 series)

1. Set your refresh rate to your computer default (60hz)
*You can adjust your refresh rate later*

2. Update Video Drivers

3. Delete all folders via: \Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles

4. Still not working? Launch the game in Windowed Mode, set Battlefield 2142 Refresh Rate to it's lowest.

Hey at first my game would load all the way and I'd get that "unmodified server content" thing, which I believe I fixed from the 2nd thing on that thread when you change the version to 1.10 and install the patch.

Now it starts downloading a map, and around the halfway point, it crashes.

I tried disabling all the startup programs, but that wasn't the problem.

I didn't really understand how the memory checker works...

I tried opening it in windowed format like the way you said, but it still crashes.

Any ideas? I'm still having trouble.

i played this game for about 2 days but then i have the problem when it starts downloading a map it crashes like the half i tried opening in windowed but dont worked i tried reinstaling it but dont worked too any solutions?

Thank you for the great info, The only thing I cant get working on 2142 is the: Resolves Stats not updating / unlocks not showing.

On my Stats in the game I have 70000/0 The 0 has been 0 for weeks ?
+ I do not get any more unlocks ?

Any more tips to fix this.

If you play on only one server, try switching it up and getting points on another. That usually fixes the problem of not getting a rank up.

Once you hit Brigadier General(approx 58000 points) you don't get anymore ranks, so the 0 will always be 0. You also don't get anymore unlocks, unless you've bought the Northern Strike expansion, and then you have to play on NS maps to get those unlock slots.

What about points not updating often over the last couple of days I have seen my Points show up in Overview but not make it to BFHQ for some reason. Any help for this?
