VOIP Echo & RealTek Audio
Looking for help getting my VOIP working properly. I have read most of the stuff on here regarding the RealTek onboard audio and it's associated problems.
My first problem was that people couldn't hear me over VOIP very well. As suggested in another thread I have updated the RealTek Drivers and now checked the Mic Boost withing the RealTek control panel for output.
I'm using a non-USB headset with traditional 3.5mm jacks through the front ports of my machine.
This seems to have cured the people not being able to hear me problem but now I have a new one. Firstly, I have tried running the BF2142 voice setup program, and although the sound recorded can record my voice with no problems now the setup program doesn't even register that I'm talking.
So I have also tried using the microphone test within the game but now I get my vocie being played back to me in a loop which gets exponentially louder.
I read somewhere that mute the microphone in output fixes this but the only option to mute the mic within the RealTek software mutes it all together so my vocie doesn't transmit.
Should I be looking within the Windows volume controls for this option?
Any help greatly appreciated, I would put some screenies up but don't have anywhere to host them, although I can email them if that helps.
Any help greatly appreciated as this is quite frankly driving me up the wall.

www.imageshack.us doesn't even require a log in and is free. There are many others.
As for your problem try messing around with windows settings and see what happens.

Re: VOIP Echo & RealTek Audio
Update:
Well I played on the TG server last night, and although a bit crackly (I'm putting it down to mic gain being on) people could hear me okay with no echo loop or anything.
So I will follow the old idiom of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" for the time being.

Re: VOIP Echo & RealTek Audio
Just a note: I have RealTek onboard audio. When I tried to get TeamSpeak and VoIP working at the same time, I had issues--one would be so static-y I couldn't be heard, but the other would work fine. I ended up having to get a USB headset so that I could bypass RealTek entirely for everything to work properly.

Re: VOIP Echo & RealTek Audio
Thanks for posting, Silver--I may have to check that out at some point after I get some free time to see if I can get mine working without the USB headset.
