    Temporary Minifix - Kit save feature for advanced players

    \My Documents\Battlefield 2142\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\0001

    (0002 for your second soldier, 0003 and 0004 for your other two)


    Open the file "Profile.con" with a Text Editor. Copy n paste the values below and replace your lines with them. It will be the 40 lowest lines in the profile.con. Afterwards edit the Attributes of the file and make it READ ONLY!

    What this will do:

    - ALWAYS equip you light armor
    - ALWAYS equip you with an Otus drone
    - Recon: Lambert RDX APM
    - Assault: VOSS for EU Krylov for PAC Rockets Defib
    - Engineer: Pilum Motion Mines Motion Mine Bait
    - Support: Ganz IDS EMP Grenades


    Advantages:

    - No more spawning without SL equipment.
    - Every kit will have something workable when you spawn in. I tried to select the most critical unlocks for a "Quick come with kit XYZ in!" situations where you have no time to doublecheck your kitselection
    - Medic will always have a defib instead of spawning in with Smoke n Herzog when you didnīt pay attention.


    Backdraws:

    - If your personal preferences differ too much from mine you might have more work putting back in what you like than putting up with the messed up autosave feature
    - Unlocks you do not have yet will be replaced by the standart weapon or be left blank.



    Known Issues:

    - Randomly your Recon kit will still be totally empty. Only having the stock sniperrifle equipped.




    Protip:

    - If you are a "Heavy Armor" believer change the very last digit of each "LocalProfile.setCurrentProfileHeavyArmor" line into a 1

    How does it work, in case we want to customize it?

    I take it the first column is 0=EU, 1=PAC, or the other way around. The 2nd column is 0=Recon, 1=Assault, 2=Engineer, 3=Support? The third column for the armor is 0=Light, 1=Heavy. For the Kit selection, it looks like it's the slot, slot 3 seems to be the Otus, but iono what slots 0-2 are.

    Where could we find the numbers for the stuff we'd want if we want to change that? ^^

    There is no official list - I know what I know by trial and error. Basically tab in n out of game while changing kits and setting to READ ONLY and reload - the game really seems to randomly mess with your kits when you leave and join servers.

    If you are desperate enough I bet you could decode it completely

    Those loadouts are perfect, but I do occasionally change to a spawn beacon or a shotgun.

    Does this method still allow you to change your kit on the fly?

    The "Profile.con" will only be loaded when you first log in into your soldier. After that you are free to do whatever you wish

    wat i have noticed is that after i have logged off the next time i log in these settings dont stay...
    is this wat you mean as temporary?

    Did you make sure to make the file read only? Otherwise it'll get overwritten with new settings.

    If you do not like the kits that lyra laid out, you can set it up how you like by doing the following:

    1. Start with a "blank" proflie.con. The following loadout has nothing in any slots.

    Then load up the game. Systematically select a kit the way you want it for each class on each team (PAC and EU). Then spawn in once with each kit, on each team. For example, set up all your gear for assault, spawn in, then suicide. Then do it for each class, on each team. I did this on an empty server during a warmup.

    Once you have spawned in with each kit, log out. Then set the profile con file to read only. I also set the master profile.con file to my favorite kits and readonly.

    on vista64 the path to the master profile.con is:
    C:\Users\sc1ence\Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\Default
    and for my soldier it is:
    C:\Users\sc1ence\Documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\0001

    setting up your kits takes less than 5 minutes. I would recommend doing this for anyone that plays frequently.
