    What The Hell is "Pace?"

    Hey, I've got everyone's favorite error message!

    "BF2142Pace.exe has stopped working" I have -no idea- what to do.

    A little info:
    Running Vista Home Premium 64 bit
    BF2142 w/ expansion pack version 1.5
    Have already tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting and it doesn't seem to work.

    Hm, try going to your program files and running the 2142 .exe from there. If that works delete your desktop shortcut and create a new one from the .exe.

    or maybe 2142 and compatable with vista, and vista finnaly caught it and kicked you off???

    In my BF2142 folder there is no "2142.exe" the only exe files are "BF2142Pace.exe" and "BF2142Launcher" and both give me the same error... I tried going into 'run' and running 2142.exe and it says it doesn't exist.

    and you disregard anything i just said.... VISTA IS !NOT! a gaming kind of opperating system, it sucks, i dont think 2142 is compatable with it......

    Vista will run 2142... Here are some tips

    I got Vista and everything is fine, try this:
    1. Run the program as an administer (right click and run as administer)
    2. Update your operative system.
    3. Try turning of your virus program and/or firewall.
    If ''run as administer'' works then just start BF2142 with it some time, then Vista will register this and will start BF2142 as administer all the time.

    If BF2142.exe isn't in your ....Electronic Arts/Battlefied 2142 folder then I suggest you reinstall.

    Oh and I'm 100% sure 2142 runs in Vista.

    I deleted the downloaded files, uninstalled the game fully (went through and mopped up whatever was left) redownloaded the game, patches, expansion etc.. I installed all of it, rebooted and there is still no "BF2142.exe" only the "BF2142Pace.exe" and "BF2142Launcer.exe"

    Alright, so I found and downloaded a copy of "BF2142.exe" (it should be 6MB, right?) anyway, I put it into my BF2142 directory and when I ran it it gave me the same error only in stead of "BF2142ace.exe has stopped working" I got "BF2142.exe has stopped working"


    It never does tell me why though, it just gives me that error... takes it time closing and then closes without giving me any explanation as to what is causing it.

    BF2142Pace.exe is the DLed version of 2142. If you DLed and didnt install via disk purchased at a store, then you have BF2142Pace.exe instead of BF2142.exe

    Though, why its not working is beyond me.

    Are you logged in to the EA downloader when you try to play? I don't know if this is still an issue or not but I head that at one time you had to be logged into the downloader for things to work correctly... Not sure if this is still the case.

    Yeah, I'm in logged into the downloader when I try to run the program. Unfortunately, the problem persists... And ES tech support is taking their sweet ass time giving me a hand.
