    Server Crashing?!

    I was just playing an awesome Fall of Berlin game a few minutes ago, in a great squad with DocGuo, then BAM. Your connection to the Server has been lost. This has been happening ALL DAY today, and I'm just wondering is there a problem with the servers?

    It happens every once and a while, but it has been extremely bad today. Could be the server, maybe the EA master server. Not sure.

    "server timed out" wtf! unreliable crap!

    That would be an EA problem if you cannot log in...

    Long story short EA controls the master server the one that contains all the accounts and all the stats. That server or rather group of servers have been having on-again, off-again issues related to the new maps that EA released with Battlefield 2142 version 1.5.

    I'm sure there may more to it then that, as EA announced a few months ago that they are working to bring several new server farms up and running to reduce stress and other loads from the existing systems in hopes of fixing the issue or issues.

    Unfortunately master server issues pop up from time to time and there is not much that can be done about it other then waiting it out.

    Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your new game, but let me say 2142 is worth it. It is a trouble shooting nightmare, but it is worth it. When you do get things fixed look up the Tactical Gamer Server we'll show you the ropes quick.

    Thanks for your the reply, that eases the frustration .
    actually i used to play BF 2 a couple of years ago but just now i went back to it, so i decided to upgrade , it was quite a shock to encounter this problem , but as i became addicted to bf 2 i knew that 2142 should be awesome too.
    hope to be playing soon.

    Well best of luck and welcome to the |TG| forums.

    If you do decide to take up residence I would suggest you take a look at the SOP and server rules for 2142. |TG| is a community of games (including BF2 if you are interested) and gamers alike, we focus on maturity, fair play and well, Tactics.

    Just feel free to take a look around the forums do a little bit of reading, most |TG| members tend to be active on US East Cost times (GMT -4) but we have members all over the world including the EU, South America and almost everyplace in between.

    If you have any more question be sure to ask and I'm sure someone will try to help where they can...

    Gah, EA is too cheap. They probably think that BF 2142 is an old game that they shouldn't spend money on. Oh well, at least the crashes have been down.

    This happens from time to time. I believe Tuesdays is a maintenance day.

    What sucks for me is that if the server crashes, my comp crashes and i have to reboot. :-(

    Indeed tuesday in maintance day... Sometimes it happens that all servers go down... Luckily for those who don't live in European time zones, this will never happen -.-'

    There is also secret tric that allows me (I have vista) not to reboot after crash. First click Ctrl + Alt + Del, then screeneither turns black or nothing happens, then you press windows button and after that alt + tab. It usually doesn't take them at first second so you either have to wait or do it again if necessary. Has ALWAYS worked for me with TG server crashes.

    Yes, that is annoying. For me if crashes happen frequently I loose VOIP (it turns itself off automagically and cannot be re-enabled) or VOIP is enabled but the microphone is not working.

    Restarting the game usually fixes it.
