    Help plz

    Ok so i went online and did the extended dwnld of northern strike. the EA dwnld manager says its installed but i dont see anythign on my comp for it, or on my account info on the BF 2142 web site. I tried hoping on a NS server well actually 2 of them but it said that these servers are for unmodified versions of BF2142 and that i had to revert my game back to it. I have not done anythign to my game no mods or whatever. Any ideas?

    hello there,

    NS is quite problematic I do suggest repatching to 1.5 after installing NS, that will most likely fix your problem.

    and just for future reference there is a tech section for 2142 here.

    Please note that page 1, post 1 of that has several more fixes that you can try that I wrote, including one that is alot less time consuming than Zhohars. Nothing against it BTW, it's a valid soluition, but you should try the registry edit first I would think.

    Yep, yep. The whole thread is worth reading, Belander. Try the easiest, least-involved solutions first, and then work from there. I posted mine because it was relatively easy for me and I don't like messing around with the registry.


    (I also have Vista and I'm doubly dis-inclined to touch its registry. Only 3 more weeks until my gaming machine gets here. Windows XP, I've missed you so much.)

    I also had alot of problems with NS. But I am working with BF2142 Deluxe Edition, a whole ball of problems in its self. I couldnt get the game to register that I was allowed to run NS content, due to my key already being registered with BF2142 vanilla. I ended up calling EA tech support and having them alter my account to get NS registered.
