Password Night - Memory Dump
So last night everytime I tried joining the password server the game would lock up on me. The first time I had a windows error message "memory dump" and the 5 other times the game would simply lock up. However when I logged onto the Main server to play I had no problemes. I also also tried a few other servers without any issues.
Thanks,
Aumen

Re: Password Night - Memory Dump
Memory dump is normally/usually linked to a GPU driver issue. Clean your GPU driver and reinstall the most current driver available. If the problem persists check your other system drivers. I know there are a few other ways a memory dump can occur but that is the most common one. I had a memory dump problem a couple years back due to a virus. If you still are having problems post your computer specs and I'll help ya fix it.

Are you using the lastest nVidia release?

Re: Password Night - Memory Dump
Thanks - I am updating my video driver now. (I am running a Geforce 9600gt)
Last night the game locked up on me in the regular server and I had a memory dump again. But the interesting thing to note is that about a one third of people on the server got locked up as well......
I wonder if certain maps ask for sometime of video script causing people to lock, or something along those lines?
I'll let ya know if I have any trouble after I install the driver.
Thanks all,
Aumen

Re: Password Night - Memory Dump
Another thing to try might be to clear you 2142 profile cache and see if that helps. If not, uninstall 2142, delete the My Documents\Battlefield 2142 folder and contents and reinstall. It's annoying, yes, but it could resolve any issue with corrupt files, etc.

Re: Password Night - Memory Dump
Thank you for the help - yeah I did a virus scan, actually first thing I did,and came up clean. Indeed it looks like the issue resolved itself after I changed my video.com file to the correct Megahertz
