White screen with green dots
Man i cant believe this started, but win an explosion or when i get shot the screen goes white with green dots. I reinstalled the game and updated nvivia drivers but nothing. I have a 8800 GS Q6600 proc 2 gigs ram and a intel board. could it be the monitor? or is the card dyeing.

Re: White screen with green dots
Check the rest of the forum, it seems like a lot of people are experiencing problems with the latest nvidia drivers and BF2142.
Did you have this problem before updating your drivers?

Re: White screen with green dots
Nope. I pulled the card and blew it out and put it up a slot then got back on and it seemed okay, but i forgot to turn voip on. I also went to my card maker and got the driver ran driver cleaner and installed there driver. It was happening during heavy fighting so I thought maybe over heating. The card is just over a year old I would think it is good for awhile longer if not Im gonna go ATI.

Re: White screen with green dots
Okay I am 99% positive that you can rule out over-heating. I use my laptop for online gaming most of the time now and it has a 8600M GT and I could play for 10+ hours straight with no lockups. The characteristic of a lock-up is generally just a froze game, not a white screen w/ green dots. Give me a little to research on the problem but I'm pretty sure over-heating isn't your problem.

Re: White screen with green dots
Okay, I'm gonna make a list of "possible" solutions and I'll add more as I keep looking into the problem.
1. Is this happening in other games?
2. Are you overclocking your card? If so a "snowing" effect can occur, reset to factory defaults if this is the case.
3. It's a card issue in the 8000 series. Turning off AA from BF2142 and enabling it in the Nvidia Control Panel, or vice versa, usually corrects the problem.
4. Go to a older driver (much older) and test the game, if the game shows no problems, then the problem is the current driver/s you're using.

Re: White screen with green dots
payne, I can say with almost certainty that it is the new Nvidia drivers. I have an 8600GTS that plays 2142 just fine. That is until I installed the latest drivers just prior to this past weekend. After installing them, when I was near an explosion or I died, my whole screen would freak out for a few seconds. At times, I was also getting the strange white screen with green dots that just wouldn't go away. Other times I was getting weird purple squares all over my screen.
Saturday, I gave up, completely wiped the new drivers from my drive and registry. I then downloaded and installed the previous version and I'm back in business.|TG-55| Infantry Division - Captain

Re: White screen with green dots
I'm pretty sure it was the 176.15 version I've put on, but I'm going to have to double check when I get home later.

Re: White screen with green dots
Payne, scratch going back to the old drivers, you should be able to use the new ones and get rid of the screwed up graphics.
Check this thread out, http://www.tacticalgamer.com/battlef...a-drivers.html and thanks to Aumen for figuring out the fix for this problem.|TG-55| Infantry Division - Captain
