FYI - for anyone having video trouble, or you update your drivers or have changed video settings.
This is something to check out: Refresh rate.
Find your video.con file (under my docs/bf2142/profiles...)
Copy file - rename to video.txt and check to see if your BF2142 VideoSettings HZ (75,60) matches what you have setup under Windows settings.
The things is even if you change it in game to match, it does not refresh in the video.con sometimes and can be misaligned causing you to have errors, crash, etc....
To fix, either adjust windows settings to match or change hertz setting in you .con file.
No matter what you do, in good practice always create a backup of original files
