why????
Every once in a while when I log onto the server it gives me a PB error saying something about handshake failed and it kicks me, it always loads fine but when I click join game it gives me the error and then poof I'm gone :P...sometimes restarting my computer fixes it temporarily, however take tonight for example I was sitting at my cp waiting for an opening so I could join the game...I probably was waiting at least 30-40 min and then when I finally got in it gave me the PB error :P I thought about throwing my cp out the window...but decided that was prob a bad idea :P......
anyway has anybody seen this before? is there a way to fix it? cause its really starting to annoy me :P

It happens to me alot. I think what happens is that your PB isn't self updating, and you need to do it manually. Download PB setup from Evenbalance.com, and get the pbsvc tool from the support section. Run both, and your PB should run fine.

Ooo the handshake error that was a fun one I encountered awhile back. I was running Vista as I'm assuming you are and if not my advice may not be worth much. But if I remember correctly the handshake error is when PnkBstrB is not communicating with the server at the beginning. What I did was basically find the PnkBstrB file... the one that is running, should be under your System32 files I believe and switch both(PnkBsterA/PnkBsterB) of the Punkbuster files to "Run as Administrator" then test em, hope this helps either way I'll look more into the issue.
- BTW next time you may want to put technical related problems in the Technical Support area of the BF2142 forums. I figure I'd tell ya before someone else does =pA.E.K.Δ.B.
