Fraps
I recently installed FRAPS but cannot initiate screen shots or videos, even with the default key binds.
I have a mac so perhaps it is to do with this?
Does it ONLY work in-game or can you take pictures and videos out of game?

in game only I believe, do you have the framerate markers appear? what OS do you have going?

Did you install 2142 on your Mac OS, or did you use bootcamp and install windows and install there?
I believe FRAPs is windows only. FRAPs will only work if you are in a game, cannot record video or take screenshots of anything but a game or some video filetypes.

Apologies. I have a Mac but run XP with bootcamp.

Not sure if you resolved this yet? But with my fraps, I had to reduce my video quality for it to work at all. 30 fps worked best I believe.

Yeah, with the demo version that's all you get I believe... Actually, it should have sound... But for me, never seemed to record what I was saying just the rest of my squad. I know it can be done - and this post by ExplodingSilver should have much about as much info as anywhere on TG.

Just bringing this one back. Yep, everything seems to be in order now.
What does everyone use for their key-binds? The standard ones also toggle my viewing angle.
So what software do people use if they want more than 30 second clips?

P.S: Hmm, my lovely ribbons should be showing up on my posts now but they aren't
I'm probably doing something silly so don't worry about worry about helping me fix it until I have checked the massive ribbons thread.

Very true. If I wasn't so picky about the captured quality for editing purposes, I would just use the wegame recording facility. Works for most games and they are always busy adding the new ones as they come along. Originally Posted by daithi1
