Nvidia Driver Choice?
I loaded up BF2142 for the first time awhile and noticed strange graphical stuff on the screen. I remember some posts about the latest Nvidia drivers causing folks problems.
I'm using the WHQL 178.13 ones with no problems in any other games.
If I turn AA off in the game it runs normally. Turning it on at x2 or x4 puts different weirdness on the screen.
My vidcard is the nVidia GTX280 for reference.
I see there is a WHQL 178.24 driver set out but don't want to mess with my PC unless I have to.
What to do? Thanks?

Re: Nvidia Driver Choice?
I believe the fix is to disable the AA in-game and use the nvidia control panel for using AA. If you dont want to do that you can use 177.83, this is the driver I have right now and works fine.
I'm waiting to install the 180 drivers and hope they fixed it or just do the work around myself since its not that hard.Reapator, overlord of ponies

Re: Nvidia Driver Choice?
What reaper said. Turn off AA ingame. Use the nvidia control panel and set AA for BF2142 in there. Works fine for me.

I just rolled back to 177.83.
Less of a head ache for me.
But yes, the fix above should work fine. It's Gaming

Re: Nvidia Driver Choice?
I find that on my rig, the new Nvidia drivers fixed my alt-tab crashes. That alone was worth having to control the AA from the Nvidia control panel rather than in game.

Re: Nvidia Driver Choice?
Hey all --- Something I did not mention before about this issue --- To get AA to work properly with nvidia control panel, while turning it off in game; In the Nvidia control panel you must select the Global Setting tab and select the AA-mode setting "override any application setting" as well as changing the "program settings" 2142 application AA "mode" and AA "setting"

Re: Nvidia Driver Choice?
I didn't adjust the Global setting in the nVidia control panel. I started by adjusting the application setting for BF2142 to "enhance" and set it at 4x AA. The ingame setting is no AA. Seemed to work fine.
Thanks for the advice. Cya.
