RendDX9.dll problems on startup
I've googled this, searched this on other forums and this one, and I've got nothing. When I try to start up BF2142 the screen goes black and resizes to the game's resolution and then the game crashes with a RendDX9.dll error.
I have Vista 64bit and DirectX 10. I've tried several things but I'm not sure if I did them correctly so I wont list them, I need to know all of the fixes that you guys know of so I can fix it properly
I suspect that the issue has something to do with my DirectX being 10 and not 9 though I do not know how to downgrade it.
I have BF2142 Deluxe Edition (got it for Christmas since my old version got scratched). On the system requirements it said Windows XP only, I'm not sure if there is a Vista version of BF2142 out there, I looked and couldn't find one at Gamestop, Circuit City and Best Buy. If they have one and I'm just missing it please tell me and I'll simply get that and that would be an easy fix

2142 is in dx9 only, its an older game and does not support dx10
dx should install both versions and activate dx9 or dx10 according to the game
i would suggest reinstalling dx

as for vista, the only trick i have heard of is right click on desktop launch item and click run as administrator
