Re: wide screen support...i know...
I am not sure if you have heard of Tweak Guides, but it is a good reference for games.
Here are the instructions lifted from Tweak Guides for 2142:
It involves using the +szx and +szy command line options (covered in the Advanced Tweaking section). For example to set a resolution of 1280x1024, go to your BF2142 launch icon, right-click on it and select Properties. Then in the Target box put a single blank space after the last character and insert +szx 1280 +szy 1024, substituting any other number for the 1280 width and 1024 height respectively to suit your needs. The end result should look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

Re: wide screen support...i know...
As of patch 1.50, you can add +widescreen 1 to the end of the command line.
Similar to how you would do it before, but now it allows you to select it in the menus.
It'd look like this:
And if you're not sure how to get there, what you do is right click your Battlefield 2142 shortcut, and go to properties. there you'll see target. Under target, add " +widescreen 1" to the end."C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1
DON'T forget the space.It's Gaming

Re: wide screen support...i know...
Bare in mind when selecting widescreen it actually cuts off a bit of your top and bottom screen to make it fit, it's not a big deal, but something to note when making the switch.
