Modem Crash!?!?!
I just don't understand and I won't accept it until I get it fixed. If you're wondering what this is all about my internet has been down for awhile but was "fixed" about a week or two ago. Anyways, Left4Dead, Combat Arms ANY online game that I participate in have NO issues what so ever except for Battlefield 2142. Here's the scenario... I log into Battlefield as I normally do, go to my favorite server list that only consists of the Tactical Gamer servers. Well the game loads and I start playing with a consistent 40ms. Then at some random moment the ping starts going EVERYWHERE and my modem literally crashes to the point that I DON'T have internet at all...no internet AT ALL! Well that was the climax of the story, my internet then returns anywhere from 10-30minutes, but this is unacceptable and it is really starting to push my nerves to the edge.

I apologize for leaving some key information out but BFCL has started a little while back and I havn't been able to pull my weight because of this. I live in a dorm at the Univ. of Michigan so I'll have to update this with the information I get from the IT department, so I'll be back soon.

No problem. If it's a college then you'll have to go through them - there's nothing that I can really recommend on your end. If you owned a cable modem and router I would definitely have some steps to try and advice to give.

LOL! I just had to stop in because of the title of the thread. I was thinking there was NO WAY someone had a real "dial-up" modem still playing games....LOL!
