mic boost problem
My problem is that when I click to boost my mic in audio options, it resets to off after I leave the menu. No one is able to hear me in game and I am not sure if my voice is coming in quiet or not at all. Any ideas? Thanks.

Run the VoIP program in your Battlefield folder and set Mic Boost to on there. Then, before entering BF2142, make sure Mic Boost is on in the Windows sound options. To do that, double click the little speaker icon in the system tray. Then Options -> Properties. Click the Recording radial in that menu, and make sure Microphone is checked. Click OK. Then open Options again and make sure Advanced Properties is checked. If not, click it. Click the Advanced button below the Microphone sliders. Enable Mic Boost if it's not already. Click Close. If that doesn't work, hopefully someone else knows a fix.

No problem, mate. If it's still quiet, try upping the volume slider for the microphone in the sound tray (same place as before) or the Transmit Volume setting under Audio in the BF2142 options menu.
Also, take note that on some computers, BF2142 likes to mute the microphone output volume whenever you run it, so you won't be able to hear your own mic while playing. That setting is the microphone slider in the Playback screen of the sound tray, and will do nothing. If you don't know which screen you are on, you can tell the difference a) by going to Options > Properties and seeing which radial is selected or b) by looking at what sliders are on the screen. When on the Recording screen, you should only see Microphone or Microphone and Wave, nothing else.Bucklin out.
