Unreachable host?
Starting 2 days ago, both TG servers have been showing up red for me. It doesn't seem to be happening to anyone else I know.
I have the latest patch and punkbuster updates.
When I try to ping the servers from the command prompt, I get the message:
"Destination host unreachable."
I have connected and played on these servers before, so it's not a firewall issue.
I am still able to connect to and play on other servers, both public and belonging to other clans/communities/groups.
Anyone else experienced this? Any ideas how to solve it?

Re: Unreachable host?
Are they showing red in your favorites? It sometimes happens to me too. There are three other possibilities to get on the server besides of joining via favorites.
1) Join a friend playing on the server
2) Go to "play online" , "advanced" and type in the section name: "tactical" make sure to uncheck sections like "autobalance" or other options that could prevent your server-browser to show the server.
3) Connect to IP

Re: Unreachable host?
Unfortunately, they not only show red in favourites, but also when I search for the servers in "Advanced" and also when I try to connect by IP Address.
Do the TG servers allow pings? If they do, then I find it very odd that I can't even ping them from the command prompt.
I haven't yet tried joining a game through a friend though. I'll give that a try next time I see a friend online.

Re: Unreachable host?
there are three ways to join a server
1) through friend
2) through favorites
3) through server browser
if 2 have failed then the third probably will
there are two reasons why servers show red in favs or browser
1) you happen to load up 2142 when that server is not responding to pings when it is changing maps.
however if you go to multiplayer / advanced / clear all the options at the bottom (important) / search on servername tacticalgamer, that should bring up our 2 servers, if they are white text you can join on them. If they are still red then your PC thinks its version is different from the server
2) client version is different from server version, ie what patch are you on, on the initial log on screen does it say patch 1.5 ?
if you can log in to 2142 but not connect on IP then I would estimate that your client is not at the same version as the server ie 1.5
howver you say it is patched and worked before, so i am running out of options
please check the version as in the picture and maybe even repatch

Re: Unreachable host?
I definitely see v1.50 on the login screen and all the options are unchecked on the "Advanced" tab. The servers are still coming up red. :-(
Perhaps this is one of those times where a complete uninstall/reinstall is in order... I didn't buy the extended download feature, but the files are in the EADM cache. If I uninstall, will it allow a re-install from them or will the wonderful EA force me to buy the game again?

Re: Unreachable host?
Mate, check your PeerGuardian log. It might be blocking them.
Also, as long as your files are in the EADM cache, you will able to install the game. I believe that EA download manager will permit you to redownload the files for up to six months anyway.

Re: Unreachable host?
Also, have you tried pinging the TG servers from the command line?
For the other e1st guys, it's unlikely to have happened but could this be an indication of a ban?

Re: Unreachable host?
That did the trick. Sorry for that everyone. I guess I had PeerGuardian turned off when I first connected to the TG servers.
