    Resolution Problem

I scanned the first couple of pages, and I didn't see anything on this, so I decided I should ask...

I recently got a new screen. Nice 22'' Viewsonic widescreen, running a native resolution of 1920x1080. Unfortunately, my old screen was a 19'' CRD screen with a native resolution of 1600x1200. That being the resolution Battlefield 2142 was in, it now doesn't work on my new screen. So, I cannot play 2142, and I'd really like to. Anyone 'round here know how to fix this? I tried reinstalling, and it didn't quite work...

I assume it has something to do with the .ini files and some manual editing, but I don't know enough about that to do it myself...

    Thoughts?

    Explanation:

    You need to add

    +widescreen 1

    To your 2142 shortcut

    For example,

If I connected to the server using the 2142 shortcut that the game installs you would have a shortcut that looks something like:

    "X:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1"

You should change it to read

    "X:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +widescreen 1"

The X in this case is the drive letter where BF2142 is located.

The "+menu 1" and "+widescreen 1" are refered to as command line arguments.

    detailed instructions:

Right click on the 2142 shortcut and select properties. In the "target" text entry field of the window that pops up you will see the current shortcut and arguments.
    Edit this field such that the "+fullscreen 1" reads +widescreen 1 .

Then in game you will see your widescreen resolutions.

    Thanks!

I can tell from the first line of the quote that you were probably somewhat annoyed to repost that, but thanks for responding. Now, lets see if the server it up.
