Intro movies....
Im sure many of you are already aware of this but...
By deleting or moving ( I suggest moving ) the movie files from they'r folder; BF2142 will stop playing those unskipable EA and Dice logo's aswell as the intro screen and will directly prompt to the login screen...
I have been using this trick for awhile, and it still takes abit before the login screen is shown but its much faster than waiting for those logo screens to finish playing.
Again; not sure if anyone knew about this, just trying to be helpfull2412: TG Displacio or TG Wazzaup

Re: Intro movies....
It's a good trick. I'd liketo know how many minutes of my life I wasted looking at those screens before I discovered it. Must have been a lot with all the crashes and all...

Re: Intro movies....
Just make sure you don't remove the dice.bik file...see the sticky post at the top of forum for a more detailed explanation why.

Re: Intro movies....
I changed the file names to skip the movies since BF2 but I kept getting booted by Punkbuster until I moved it back. Maybe if I leave the dice.bik file I'll be OK. As much as I crash the movies get frustrating.

Re: Intro movies....
I moved them and had no problems playing. I had my brother do the same thing, and right after that change he kept getting booted by Punkbuster. I had him right-click the desktop shortcut for BF2142, go to properties, and then run as Administrator, and he was playing in no time...

Re: Intro movies....
Where can I find these files in the BF2142 folder?

Re: Intro movies....
Search for .bik files in your game installation path. Then you can rename the files or rename the folder containing them (that's what I did).

You should search out Tweak Guides as they have lots of good info.

Here is the Tweak Guide section on disabling intro movies:
