PunkBuster o/s exception
I started getting this a few days ago, and any server I join (particularly the TG servers!
) I get kicked after a few minutes, and there seems to be no obvious reason. It scrolls in the console (skipnotify) but doesn't start right away.
I've had no new installs or any updates or service updates to the system, I've been playing since 2007 and never had an issue. It's seems odd, EvenBalance seems to point towards a "hardware conflict" or something on the machine, but I thoroughly disagree, they don't seem to helpful other than "you're f'd, get a new machine or reinstall your o/s", which, clearly, isn't helpful.
Anyone get this?

i'm getting it right now...found this putting in a googlesearch will keep on looking to find a fix, prob just need to manually update Punkbuster cos it is THE SUCK

Looks like another phantom bug to me. Could be EA or PB. Has PB been updated lately? I hope I'm lucky and escape this one.

well i googled around and some people have said to run bf2142 in admin mode, but i tried that and didnt work. I reinstalled PB and that hasn't removed the problem either, maybe when I run the game today it might work, will let you know but so far havn't found any remedies, hopefully it will sort itself out?

Not to dig up an old post, but I am currently running into this error myself. Kind of bad when you start a squad, plan up, and then get kicked just as the round starts for some stupid PB error. Any solution found yet?

Have you deleted the 2142 punkbuster folder, then run pbsetup?

I have rid myself of the issue for now. Who knows what I did. Perhaps a simple restart of my laptop was in order.
