Re: Battlefield 2142 problem
There should be absolutely no difference. And I don't think you need to type in any @ character anyway, unless it's actually part of your main profile name.
If your profile name is Cybertox@blahblahblah, i imagine you just type in Cybertox and leave it at that. I'm just guessing here btw.
Also, as anyone who has used the |pipes| in their TG tags knows, a lot of these 'unordinary' characters don't actually show, but are still there. So if you really need to type it, type the @ character (shift 2 as you can see on your keyboard) and it will be there but you just won't see it.
This is just me guessing but I reckon it's a safe guess. I'm on a mac also.In Order to Dance

Re: Battlefield 2142 problem
OK, not as simple as I thought then, sorry about that. I went to the create account screen and typed in my e-mail address and it did display the @ character. I'm using an Intel AluiMac with the thin Alu-keyboard so I'm not sure that's the issue (although nexus is right, it can cause problems due to combined Fnumbers and also desktop zoom). Does it display anything when you type Shift-2? Does it display "?

Re: Battlefield 2142 problem
You are typing shift-2. This types " (speech marks).
What you need to do, is type SHIFT- ' as in SHIFT - (APOSTROPHE)
Basically, Type Speech marks where you want the @ sign OK?
Your keyboard looks like this:

Re: Battlefield 2142 problem
Look, we're just trying to understand your problem. The way you are formatting your posts are extremely confusing.

Re: Battlefield 2142 problem
How about trying a different keyboard. Have you considered that yet?
In addition, please don't insult people who are trying to assist you. Especially when the way you type, your lack of sentence structure, and improper punctuation makes it difficult to read.

Re: Battlefield 2142 problem
I've solved your problem. You not being able to understand that does not mean I'm stupid, it means that you don't understand it. I've answered it in a simple enough way, and I'm not going to go out of my way to help someone who insults me for absolutely no reason.
You want to type the Character [@].
Your keyboard displays the character ["] when you type SHIFT-2.
Thus, type SHIFT- '
SHIFT-[']
SHIFT-[APOSTROPHE]
Your computer will then type @. If that's not simple enough, I don't know what is. Please take your insults elsewhere. In Order to Dance

Re: Battlefield 2142 problem
Look at your keyboard. Don't look at the numbers.
Next to the enter key on the middle line. There is a sequence of characters:
j k l ; ' \
Type:
SHIFT- '
SHIFT-[']
SHIFT-[APOSTROPHE]
' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ----- These are Apostrophes OK? NOT " " "
IGNORE 2 , you don't need 2In Order to Dance
