    2142 Multiplayer Punkbuster Problem?

    Hey guys... I've recently re-installed 2142 and hopped into a few multiplayer servers. I've been kicked in all of them with the message "Punkbuster".

    The funny thing is, I get kicked whenever I try to enter a vehicle or I press "E" for anything that I can enter in as a player.

    There are lots of strange problems with BF2142, but all of them usually seem to originate from the same root cause. Try this. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling using the specific steps shown here.

    If the installation is correct then you may need to install pbsetup. You can get it here http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

    Once you download pbsetup, run it, add game 2142 then click update. This will fetch the latest pb files for 2142.

    However, if your installation has problems, it can confuse pb and trigger a kick. If the above doesn't work, then you should verify or repeat your installation of 2142 following the link RogueTheory gave you.
