Equipment selection keys
Is there any way to "fix" the selection keys for equipment?
For instance as Assault:
...
3) assault rifle
...
5) defib
6) rockets
The default bindings always change and it's very confusing. With identical kit load 5 is defib and 6 is rockets with the Baur, but 5 is rockets and 6 is defib with the Voss or Krylov. WTF?
I'd like to set the keys so that each number is one specific kit item (even if I don't have it equipped at the time). That way, it's always consistent and even if I pick up someone else's kit, I can change selected item without having to mouse-wheel scroll through their options.I want a semi-automatic grenade launcher for the support role... like the one available in Aliens vs. Predator 2. All those different "warhead" types would be extremely useful.

Nope, it's been an issue since the game's release and it's something people always hope is addressed in the "next patch," but it never is.

yeah its totally dumb, how could they have missed that? Which leads me to think, maybe they did it purposely!?!?!??! Why? I dont know!

Frak. Oh well. I suppose someone could probably hack it to make it work, but then PunkBuster or something similar would probably kick you off for having a modified client...

Get a mouse with side buttons like I did and use the buttons for Defib n Rockets. Much easier to use a mantra like "defib back" (button) or "defib front" (button) than messing about trying to reach the right key or using a scroll wheel. Use the best combo for the weapon setup you like (your main choice of loadout) and just repeat the mantra a couple o times if you get a different kit.
I bound the same buttons to vehicle views, to view from front or back and just click the scroll wheel for main default view.

o.O I gotta try that jazy. I have a back button like thing on my mouse (I got a G5 gaming mouse). Maybe I can assign the right key for the defib to that button.
