Mic problem(s)
I've been having mic problems for four days now. First person to notice it was Reaper, then the next day Jengles started mentioning that I went into long spells of being muted. The "solution" I used was merely to increase my volume physically on my mic. But in the last few days, this "solution" stopped working, and my mic just continues to inexplicibly mute itself every now and then, only to resound off after 5-10 mins. I can't really explain it any better, because on my end everything appears fine.
Everytime I've tested my mic in Windows it's worked fine. But I've only done so twice now.
Any suggestions/ideas/miracles? Without a consistant mic I can't SL which makes me a sad panda.
Edit: Check that, I just tested the mic in Windows Movie Maker and it was broke (until I increased volume). So, is my mic dying, or could there be any other explainations?Last edited by Memento-Mori; 04-21-2009 at 09:23 PM. Reason: Updated

It could be something in the internals of your mic, like a piece is lose. You could attempt to open up your mic and check it out. Or you could just go out and buy another one. I got an okay headset from Walmart for like $10 (the headphone part of the headset has broke, but I just plug the mic part in and use another set of headphones [looks pretty makeshift but it works]).

Yeah, I suspect you were right, Holy. Something was lose. I did go out and get a new mic though, so that should solve my problems. However, if anyone finds my voice incomprehensible with this new mic, be sure to let me know. I'm still working out the bugs, so to speak.
