Hello, I have the same issue as HallHarry, one week now.

No AV, no Fraps, nothing runs on my system, I use the "MSCONFIG" to clutter down Windows to minimum.

Only 15 processes are running, 16 with TeamSpeak (Before BF2142 startup).

PBA & PBB are there and running.

I have the same setup 2 years now, no problems until now, and I did not change anything in the Windows or game configuration.

Every day I play, after 2 or 3 rounds I get the usual PB window without any message.

The window title is Punkbuster.

If I try to logon again to the server, after the map loads I get a freeze.

If I close BF2142 and start again, all OK (for 2 -3 rounds, then the problem appears again).

Had the same problem myself for a week or so. Usually I get punkbusted at the 3rd round. After that I get the same map freeze as Rasta-GR.

Tried reinstallin BF2142 and manually updating PB etc...

I do not think the issue has to do with our PC system.

Should be something at EA master servers, PB servers of the game server itself.

That's the reason why the problem persists even with a fresh BF2142 installation or PB update.

You might also try changing the frequency of PB checks, probably won't fix your problems but might make you last longer in games. Steps are below:

1 Join any BF online server which is running punkbuster, preferably a ranked one.
2 Once you are in, and respawned somewhere, press the `~(Tilda) key. This key is located on most keyboards above the tab key and to the left of the 1 key.
3 A large white box should drop down with a load of text in it. Type pb_sleep 500 and hit the enter key.
4 Once you have done this, make sure the box is still up and type pb_writecfg to save your settings

BTW this is just blind advice, do with it what you will.

Default value is 60, max is 500 and min is 20.

But is this our case ?

ok this problem with random disconnects with PB, I've talked to everyone at PBBans to try and get an answer for this problem..

it's not that you players/servers are randomly being disconnected from our hub, the problem lies with Even Balance themselves, you can go there and submit a ticket and we've started inquiries on our end, hopefully we will have an answer for you soon...

I didn't see this in the previous posts, or maybe I missed it. Have you installed and added 2142 to pbsetup? I saw the post on PBSVC but it is different than PBSETUP.

THe huge problem with this is that no one knows why we get kick by pb and pb doesn't give any reason so we can't really do something...

Very annoing. Got kicked twice today by PB, without any extra info. Rasta-GR was disconected as well exatly the same time as I on my first kick. I got the handshake error brfore that, but then I just installed PB a new.

Tried to re-isntall 2142 + pb manually today. I also did the pbsvc check. The check said everything is working properly. As the problem has been around for about two weeks (for me) and not before, I´d think the problem is on EvenBalance.

I haven´t done any changes on my system/settings etc. during this time.

Tried to change the PB check frequency, but it didn´t help.

I say we form a mob and go teach the people of PB and EA a lesson. No, but seriously, it's getting really annoying. I wish EA and PB would at least try to get (or even fake) some support for their games. I would like to know that I can play a game without having to worry about being booted from the server for unknown PB reason as well as stupid bugs that crash the server.

Hey Hablos, I remember this, we both was on Teamspeak and we had the PB disconnect at the same time!

I just had my first PB kick in a very long time last night, and as said, with no explanation text to accompany it. Just "Punkbuster". I'm really hoping this doesn't start to become a bigger problem for more and more of us. Of course, I played for probably four hours last night, and had it happen once, but was still annoying.
