What the hell is wrong with PB
After having to endure this for 5 day I'm finally through with this crap.
PB keeps kicking me (it just say Punkbusted) after 5-10 min of being in game.
I have two program running aside from bf2142: TS and AVG v. 8.0
I tried with AVG not working and it still kick me and if it was TS I know alot of poeple that would be kick
BTW my PB is updated
SO why does this piece of crap that is punkbuster keep playing with my nerve cause we all have to put up with server crash but now this...
Anyone got any ideal??

I have AVG aswell and the same thing keeps happing to me.

I have no idea why punkbuster is messed up in the first place. VAC works perfectly fine for Steam.
Have you tried playing with AVG disabled? Have you deleted the PB folding and done a clean install of PB? I guess I last resort could be a reinstall. I'm sure you have done these or considered them though.

The game as been run without avg running and it still kick me and really I'm not into uninstalling /installing it again but I guess that's the only option left

After you're kicked, have you checked to see if punkbuster A and B are both running? I had a problem awhile back where B wasn't starting, so I got kicked for losing packets. I did the clean re-install after completely wiping out all traces of punkbuster on my PC and everything's been working ever since.

The same thing has been happening to me. In fact after doing a clean install on Vista 32 I don't see Punkbuster A or B services at all.

Have you checked to make sure both PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB services are running in task manager, I was having problems too, and another thread here on TG suggested running the PBSVC to check these services are installed okay then uninstall and reinstall them using the PBSVC software, you can download it from www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe
Give that a go, worked a treat for me.

AVG shouldn't be the problem here. And I've had the losing key packets problem as well, but that was when I was actually having issues with my internet..

I would delete the PB folder in your BF2142 folder, and reinstall with pbsetup if you haven't done that. You can also check the PB services logfiles under c:\windows\system32\Logfiles to see if they are messing around.

OK so here is the saga...
I reinstalled pb... it failed to fixe the thing
I reinstalled bf2142 and pb... and it failed
I'm still getting punkbusted for no reason (because I'm not given one by pb)

Turn off the hacks
Since we have ruled out Fraps and PB A and B with a fresh install my only suggestion (and it's a long shot, and I really have no clue) is to try and see if perhaps something else is running in your background hidden that your not aware of, if your running XP go to start - run, type msconfig, and click the start up tab, turn off anything that isn't microsoft then give it a go.
