No, not a mic issue; I've recently got Vista I can't record sound on my computer, something I'd like to do for recording a video off Battlerecorder. I looked the issue up already, the "stereomix", "mono out" or "what you hear" or similar, feature is now hidden, this is the fix for that:

The problem is, I seem to be one of those where the feature is more than simply hidden, as when I do the above I still cannot see any such option.

As someone's put it on the net
The short term workaround has been to loop the line out audio back around into the line in jack. While this works, it's a kludge.
Don't think I've heard kludge before but that describes it well XD

Really there must be another solution? So far after a bit of seaching I've found Total Recorder, which will record audio directly related to the program you specify, as described on their website:

Record any sound passing through any line of your sound card. For example, you can record sound being played back by an external program
I tested that and it works, but it is of course only for audio and I'd rather not try to syncronise the audio with video.

Secondly I looked for Virtual Sound Cards, only one I've found so far is by "e2eSoft"

- I already tried a Virtual Webcam by them which will record the desktop, or any video files, among other things, and play it back as if you were using a webcam. As well as adding some effects, which works nicely -

Anyway, the VSC supposedly looks like this but I don't get "e2eSoft VAudio from the drop down menu so it's not working...

Any help would be appreciated
