Teamspeak-- help, I have never used it... ever.
Umm.... well, hello there! I thought at least... maybe I could have incoming TS from the TG'ers. I heard it was nice, though I don't think there can be text as well as voice? *sad face*

well, anyway, I have never used it, and I see the guide about how to connect, but the problem is, I don't know my password, the server name, the "sub-server" or any of that.
Help the Newbie?

Thanks!

Here is the main guide to getting it working. Even if you can't talk, you should be able to hear. There is a texting feature, but it is extremely limited and most people being in game will not even know it has been issued.

There is no "guide" to my knowledge...
All it says is
...and below it says all of the online users. Twaaa? =PWelcome to the Tactical Gamer TeamSpeak server. Please do not disrupt any channels or harass any users or you will be removed from the server.

hmm, you should see a lot more info there and a pic of the teamspeak interface that tells you where to put everything.

Re: Teamspeak-- help, I have never used it... ever.
On the link DrBeat gave, do you see beneath the welcome message, the Saving to Addressbook part? That's the walkthrough. Also note the numbers corresponding to the image on the right. Above the image it has your Username and Password, you need to enter a password there and click Go. It can be changed there if you want to but it doesn't make a difference because the program will remember all the details. The server has an address, and you can give it whatever name you want when you type in the Label.
Once you're on you'll get "Link engaged" spoken to you and will see a list of all the Channels and SubChannels (grey icon preceeding the name), just right click on the one you want and left click - Switch To Channel and voila. For BF2142 everyone mainly just uses the Battlefield 2142 Channel; although under that there's also Team 1 and Team 2 SubChannels, but they only get used for SL to SL and Commander VOIP and people request switching channels for this purpose. The others are more specific like a seperate SubChannel under Battlefield 2142 for the Titan server or Clanmod. You won't have to worry about all of these, just add Battlefield 2142 under Default Channel as well as everything else in the guide Beat linked.
Mine logs in automatically too; ie without actually clicking Connection --> Connect and choosing Tactical Gamer but simply on double clicking the desktop shortcut. If you want you could search for posts on that after you've got it working.
I'll walk you through it if you need more help on any of it

Re: Teamspeak-- help, I have never used it... ever.
Alright, let us do this the long way...
* If you haven't already ~ Download and Install TeamSpeak 2 Client.
You can get a copy of TeamSpeak 2 for free - HERE -
* Log on to TacticalGamer then go to the TeamSpeak sub forum - HERE -

* In the right hand corner of the TS sub forum, should be your TeamSpeak user name and a blank field for your password. This blank field is where you create your TeamSpeak password for use on the TacticalGamer TS server. NOTE this password is NOT encrypted so do NOT use the same password that you use for forum access. Remember this password, you will need to enter it into the TeamSpeak Client at a later step.

* Open up the TeamSpeak Client it should look something like this...

* In the Upper left hand corner of the TeamSpeak Client Click Connection -> Connect. This will open up the Server selection list.

* Right Click on the server selection list.
* Click "Add Server"
* Name this Server "TacticalGamer"

* This will bring up the server information screen. In this screen there are a host of fields, some of these will need to be filled in.

Label: Tactical Gamer
Server Address: 67.19.106.94
Nickname: What name will display while in TeamSpeak
Login Name: Provided by |TG|. This name should be listed in the top right hand corner of the TeamSpeak section of the forums - HERE -
User Password: User Created. Enter you password, here and in the blank password section at the top right hand corner of the |TG| TeamSpeak section of the forums - HERE -

Once this is all filled out press Connect. If everything is typed in correctly you should see a screen similar to this.
Good news you're almost done. Now you need to set TeamSpeak to 'Push to Talk' mode. Click Settings -> Sound Input/Output Setting.

Select the Push to talk radio button. Click 'Set' to assign what button is used to activate TeamSpeak.

Finally something that I would recomend when using TeamSpeak would be to disable audio prompts used by TS. Do that under Settings -> Options -> Sound Notifications and check the box 'Disable all sounds'

Hope this helps...

I don't have time to check much at the moment, but I will be sure to research more later. Thanks for the guides!

Re: Teamspeak-- help, I have never used it... ever.
To +rep a post, click the red check mark that is in the bottom left hand corner of the post; below the persons name and avatar. This will bring up a prompt that will allow you to add reputation and leave a comment.
Note: I don't remember exactly, but you may have to be a supporting member to be able to +rep

Re: Teamspeak-- help, I have never used it... ever.
The password is user created.
In short pick something, and enter it into both the Tactical Gamer Forum - HERE - in the upper right hand corner [Click Go].

Then type whatever it is you typed in the password field of the forums, into the password field in the TeamSpeak client server list, under the Tactical Gamer Server.

Re: Teamspeak-- help, I have never used it... ever.
I'd have given you rep. for that too Draken, very nice. I thought it was probably because I'm not a supporting member. Only tick I see is for my own posts XD to check its / my reputation status.
Hopefully see you on TS now Penguin
