Need Help - Crash to desktop
Immediately after I start 2142, it crashes to desktop. First thing I did was uninstall and reinstall, then turned off all startup programs except 2142, and then tried several third party programs to stop the not enough visual C memory. Now, I have no clue what to do, it just crashes to desktop shortly after I click the shortcut and does the vista search for solutions bs. I saw Azura's post where if you have a 6000 or 7000 series you have to change it down to 60 fps? whatever the resolution units are and I changed it up to 72 last time I played.
I have a HP Pavilion a1730n with a nvidia 7600 GS. Any advice you guys have I would be more than willing to try at this point.

Re: Need Help - Crash to desktop
When you uninstalled, did you delete the Battlefield 2142 folder in your "My Documents"? if not try deleting this folder and letting the game rebuild it. Sometimes something in the player setting can get corrupt and cause this issue.
Also, if you are using a wide screen resolution, make sure that you added the "+widescreen 1" info to the link.
Generally when I had this issue, one of these two things would fix it.

Re: Need Help - Crash to desktop
When you uninstall, delete all mentions of BF2142 from the registry afterwards, then reinstall. Tried running it as admin?
May not help but eventually something will lol.

Follow the instructions at the beginning of this post:

You need to uninstall 2142 completely and re-install following the order in this post. It works and will solve your problem.|TG| RoadWarrior
