    Broken CD. D'oh!

    Hey,

Had a comeback planned today, but it seems it's delayed for a bit >_> I kinda killed my CD half a year ago, it ended up with a little crack running like 1 mm from the inside to the outside. It worked perfectly fine untill a couple of months ago when it couldn't read the CD anymore at some occassions, so I sometimes had to re-put it in the drive a couple of times before it did read. Now however, no matter what I try, it won't work, so it seems the problem has gotten worse, while it did work for a bit yesterday.

My question is, is there any way to play the game online without the CD? I do have the game installed, just no means to play it. If not, it's okay, I'll just have to buy a new copy.

    Thanks.

My game disc does the same exact thing. I just have to reinsert the disc 1000 something times before I get it to work again. I don't think I have a crack in it though. =/

Um, well I'm tempted to advise an ISO file...
The same thing happened to my BF2 disc and, when I got a replacement, to the new one aswell! And I'm really careful with my discs and that hasn't happened to anything else...

So, since I'd bought the game already, I downloaded an ISO except, so far, it just says insert a disc or whatever still. The idea is it's meant to fool the computer with a virtual disc so it's obviously not working
I've got no idea whether it'll work for BF2142, but they do for most games. PM me if you do want more info

It's okay Jengles, thanks. Prefer to stay on a legal course without daemon tools and things Heading over to the local game shop as soon it opens today. Also, thanks, Silver and Holy. Consider problem solved.

The EA downloader will let you enter game keys onto your EA.com account so that you can download games that you already own hard copies of. Specifically for situations like this.

Woah. Luck is with me then. Just went over to the local store but they didn't have a copy available, seems this saves me some cash. Thanks!

EDIT: Activation Key didn't work, too bad. Perhaps my copy is too old. Uninstalled the game and stuff so that shouldn't be a problem. It says it only works with 'new games' anyways
