TS - I can hear, but not talk

When BF 2142 is not on, I can talk fine, But when its on - no more speaky for me. I was told in game that it has something to do with Vista, and that its an easy fix. Can anyone help?

PS- I am fairly computer illiterate (I point and click, and basic system tools maintenance, that's it), so talk like I'm a 7 year old

On Vista, right click the TS icon. Select "run as administrator." It will have the Microsoft shield next to it. You do need to be a system administrator.

Make sure your voice input/output in the Options menu are set to the device that should act as your microphone depending if you use an onboard audio/sound card for the jacks or a USB Device.

    1. Right-click on your Battlefield icon, search for "run as administrator" checkbox, and click it. Do the same for your TS icon.

    2. Make sure you have all your sound apps off -- music player, BF, TS, whatever. Then:
Right-click on your volume icon (in the taskbar, lower right). Click on "Recording Devices". Click on your microphone (should be the only "green" thing there), click on Properties. Click on the Advanced tab, and there is an option there for "Allow Application to take exclusive control of the device." Make sure that it is unchecked -- that is, empty. Click on Apply, OK, and close everything down.
    Fight!
