Deathadder Side Button Issue
Problem with my Razer Deathadder, got it a while back but my first time actually getting in some game time with the mouse saw me unable to use the button for anything. When I go to the Options Screen and go the Controls Tab, when I try to configure the buttons it simply doesn't read it. As most will know you have to click the button you want to change the control to, but nothing happens when I press the side-buttons, but I try another button and it registers and changes the button config.
I've got the latest drivers and firmware, but have no ideas about the problem.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

I've got a Deathadder too. Mines starting to show it's age, but I've never had a problem with the side buttons. Course I've never tried to use them in game either. I have one of them mapped to my TS button, the other to nothing.
You can test them in FF but using the ones closest to you as a back button, the one farther away as a forward button. If they work in FF, then the game is at fault, not the mouse.

Death adder has problems with the button programming, mine didn't work until I reinstalled -> updated but nowdays I still don't dare to bind anything into them. Its smarter to go into the game's menu and bind the key from the mouse instead of doing it other way around.
And remember to click apply and stuff after you've made changes, I forgot this at one point when I tried to get them working.

Great question.
I can't get by DA side buttons to work either. I've been wanting to assign the map and the knife key and it doesn't do anything when you click on it in the options window.

You got it. Now that I think about it, I think I had that button mapped to reload in BF2 before I had it to TS, so I don't know.
Are you mapping in game or through the Razer software?

Well I just fixed it. As I suspected from the stuff I've read above (major thanks all you dudes) you need to unbind all buttons in the drivers, and move them back to "button number 4 & 5" respectively.
Now it works.
