    Invalid CD Key

    So I've followed the directions to the letter here:

    but where it says "you should see a code" I see no code. thoughts? suggestions? One frustration after another. I'd almost rather go back to figuring out how to get my DOS games to work with expanded memory.

    i have already tried reinstalling. i bought the game through EA download manager.

    The regedit thing always fixed it for me, entering it manually.

    well, i'd enter it manually if i knew what my key was. where can i find this? I bought it off of EA Download Manager, so I don't have a DVD box or anything.

    EDIT: okay. i've done everything they've said. I see the x9392 and then a whole bunch of numbers after it. I didn't have to change anything. Yet I still run into the same problem.

    i'll also say that my code looks significantly longer than the code they have as an example. i tried putting in the cd key that was emailed to me, but this didn't work either

    haha not so fast. Now i'm getting unmodified content error, but at least there's loads of documentation on that

    i almost want to cry. now punkbuster is kicking me every time i load up. I get into the game for about 5 seconds then it freezes for a second, and I get kicked. Punkbuster, no message. The superfix link is no longer working.

    I'm giving up for today. Scratch that, I do want to cry.

    goto my documents/battlefield2142 and delete the profiles folder. The profile folder will be re-written when you restart the game and you'll be golden! You will lose your keybinds and most of your setting but you can reset them in less than 10 mins.

    sadly this did not work. I've manually reinstalled/updated punkbuster as well.

    Zoraster, are you running on Vista? I cannot remember.

    When I installed Battlefield, for some reason the PunkBuster services were never installed and I was getting kicked from server after server immediately.

    I had to download and run "pbsvc.exe" to validate the installation and operation of the PunkBuster services. Then I was good to go.

    ran pbsvc. reinstalled pb services. Restarted. Now the game is crashing to desktop with no error message when I select the server and start to load (about 1/4th of the way through loading the map). Checked another server to make sure it's not just Sidi, but it does it with verdun as well.

    i spoke too soon. Now, after playing successfully for a while, I'm not getting unmodified content. sigh.
