    Game/patch install order

    So here is my problem. I had to wipe my computer so I'm trying to reinstall 2142. I got 2142 installed and Northern Strike. I was playing a few games earlier today and was promoted in rank. I went to get a Northern Strike unlock that I needed, but I couldn't select it even though I had made it up that kits unlock ladder all the way to that unlock. I've patched up the game completely, but for some reason it won't let me pick Northern Strike unlocks.

    So I would like someones help with this problem. Should I reinstall the game and if so how should I go about installing patches. The EA download manager has two patches for the game and it confuses the heck out of me. Any help would be appreciated.

    I recently did a full reinstall and the order was...

    2142
    1.4 patch
    NS
    1.4 patch
    1.5 patch

    works like new!

    This way I did it as well.. except the complete reinstall of 2142.. works like a charm..

    if you run into 'Modified content error with Northern Strike'
    I did like this:

    The Registry Editor window will open

    Make sure you click on Battlefield 2142
    At the bottom of the list that will open on the right side you will see a Version REG_SZ 1.50
    Right click on the Version and Modify the 1.50 entry too 1.10,OK it then come out of the Registry Edit. If you are worried about messing something up, or one of those people who like to fiddle with things you shouldn't (it will drop off if you keep it up) then back up your registry (File -> Export from the regedit program) before you change anything.
    Finally Re-patch to 1.5 and play

    Thanks you two. I actually found this info just last night before you posted and this fixed worked like a charm. Anyway thanks again for posting.

    For those running 64-bit Windows Vista or 64-bit Windows 7, the registry key path is:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2142
