Server disconnects
I've always been mad when I'm having a great game, and I get disconnected somehow so I don't get all my awards. I always either get:
A: lose connection (have to go to another server)
B: "Connection to EA master server has been lost" (have to log back in)
or C: Computer just freezes, have to hit the switch at the back, and restart my computer.
One of these things happens at least twice a day to me, and I was wondering, does anyone else have these problems?Hey everyone I'm trying to learn Greek, if anyone has any pointers please PM me!

A: this only happens when the TG server crashes than i get back on, (i usually have the lowest ping on the server and that's y i never get disconnected without the server going)
B: never ever happened to me.
C: I have had this happen multiple times, I don't know how to fix it. I would suggest looking it up on google though. I have tried ctrl+alt+dlt a few times and still didn't work but i'm sure you have tried that also.

Are you by chance using a wireless internet connection?
If so, that could be your issue right their. Wireless connections are notorious for disconnecting or dropping at random.

Really? I am using a wireless connection that connects all 3 of my computers in my house. Thanks though, maybe I should look into getting another router.

I've have had all 3 things happen to me and I dont use wireless. Its the game and the server.
That stuff doesnt happen on some other games.
I have a quad core, lotsa ram, 1900x1200, etc....

I have gone through the pain of trying to game through a wireless router for over a year now, first with a dlink 524 then a crappy telus 2wire which is a hybrid modem/router provided by the isp. Frequent disconnects, lag-spike frenzies of 500-1000+ ping spikes, all that fun stuff. My connection problems were 100% due to the wireless con each time. Originally Posted by Math_Magician
If you have the $, but a new router, Linksys is better than dlink typically but these days if you spend $100 on either you can find quality. If you have no $ google dd-wrt its a 3rd party firmware that can beef up your routers performance, if its supported.

Wireless might do it for a few of your problems... But server crashes are frequent on TG (2-3 times a day)... I don’t know why though.
About the game freezes, I know the game is a bit unstable and there are different reasons for it to crash depending if you are using XP or Vista (or 7 now). Myself, I run the game on an up to date XP installed on a seperate hard drive inside a MacPro (server grade workstation) and I only use two applications on my Windows installation: TeamSpeak + BF2142 (plus some security apps) and the game is quite stable, but even I encounter a few crashes once in a while.
So it is «normal» to have some problems (thank you EA!) with the game. There are a few known issues that have some solutions to them... But at the end of the day, it’s not the most stable and smooth running game around.
I don’t know if Vista is more suited to the game (or indeed win7)??

Yeah I've got XP, and I don't just mean th TG server, whenever I want to go on a titan map, I always seem to get disconnected, the more players on, the worse it lags.

I've never been disconnected from the TG server, except for server crashes, and I think your problem may be the =WCK= servers, it seems like every 4th time I try to join them my computer crashes.
Playing BF2142 as:

I'm always open for tips, tutorials and training in the gunship while online, just ask :)
Currently taking a break from MW2, but when I play its as:
eXileD// DeTeR
Even if you don't consider that I only have 7 days played in the gunship I'm one of the best pilots in the game
I will always accept a 1v1, friendly or not

Here lately when the server crashes, sometimes my computer crashes also. Its happened twice so far. I'm using win7 right now and my computer never crashed when I had vista on it.
