I have both. If there's one that works with microphone though, I'll take that because I'd have to steal my USB one back.

Well what I do with my USB headset is I run the game first before I put my headset in. Once the game is past the loading screen+intro and into the login screens I plug it in. This way the game sound is in the speakers and VOIP ends up being in the headset; I can always hear people over VOIP without having to worry about game sound being over it. Just my personal preference, really.

Increase the overall volume in Windows?
If that doesn't work, decrease effects down to 10% and then increase Windows volume.

Another way is (if u can that is) get speakers. I use speakers that can change the volume of the center surround and sub. I usually turn the center pretty loud and the surround pretty low and the sub very high xD (just so i can feel the room shake xD) This way the voip is louder then w.e is going on in the game, much louder.

Btw, (u might already know this) but sometimes u just cant help it, like i remember this one guy told me he is practically screaming into his mic but all i here is this soft um... its not even a whisper, just noise lol, and he had an accent so i understood nothing lol. All i can make out was Drunkie (name of my squad) ........... up.........people...........it......... -.-

Well no with regular non USB headphones all your sound just goes to your headphones when you plug it in.

ahh man I have edited this post like 10 times because it seems a bit confusing.

Well another example concerning USB headset: if you open iTunes and plug your USB headphones in after, the music will remain in your speakers because you didn't have them in when you opened iTunes (another thing I do ) Not sure how else to explain it.

PS - Superdude/Armored did it work for you too?
