EA Download Manager
Upon launching 2142 (similar errors after verifying EA Downloader is online)
"The game cannot start. In order to launch this game, please login to EA Download Manager to verify ownership, then try again."
EA Download Manager 5.1.0.4
I've tried searching online if it's simply because there's a bug with a new version of the Download Manager, but I am unable to find when 5.1.0.4 was released. I don't know if EA's going to fix this problem on their own, or if this is a problem that I need to fix personally.
If it is a problem I need to fix, anyone have any ideas?Without teamwork, you'll never survive.

Re: EA Download Manager
Having the same problem here. Seems a large group of EADM users are experiencing this, EA has aknowledged that they have a problem and that they are fixing it, they've been trying to do so for 3 days now.
Head over to EA support site and read the following thread: forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/90/306577.page
damn forum system won't allow me to post URL's (You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more.) WTF is up with that, just trying to help.
Well the thread pretty much sums it up, they've even created a facebook group: "My EA Download Manager Doesn't Work" - I kid you not.
Too bad really, just discovered TG about a week ago, and I've been having a blast playing with you guys - really is the way BF games are supposed to be played! Hope to get it working soon

Re: EA Download Manager
Thanks,
I was frantically searching the net for a solution, read every scrap of info, tried every fix I could find - I was absolutely sure the problem was on my end. It really wouldn't hurt if EA sent out an email to the affected customers, letting us know that they are aware of the problem - would have saved a hell of alot of my time thats for sure.
While we're on it, is it just me, or is the EADM just a lousy piece of s*** software? Steam is miles ahead of it, would purchase any game on Steam, not so sure about EADM anymore..

Re: EA Download Manager
According to the thread on the EA forum I tried to link to previously, the problem has been fixed now. I can start up the game without getting the error, though I'm now getting an Invalid CD-key error. I suspect I've messed up the game myself, trying to fix the problem on my own (before I saw the thread) so I will be going for a reinstall.

Re: EA Download Manager
When I get that error I start EADM as administrator, then start bf2142 as administrator; start the game, get kicked by punkbuster.
Close game, EADM.
Start again without administrator and it works for a week or two...Gigabyte P35-DS3R, 2GB, 8800GTS 640MB, Core2Duo E8400
