Players from Poland – ping

I'm going to move to another place in Poland and I want to choose best Internet provider for playing Battlefield 2142 on Tactical Gamer server. If there are any Polish players on this forum, please provide me with information about your Internet provider and your ping here. I'm using Internet from cable TV provider "SatFilm" and I usually have ping from 140 to 170.

Re: Players from Poland – ping

I think there are a bunch of players from the EU here who never have good ping really, its more of a distance thing than an ISP thing I think??

Not sure of any polish players here on TG but I have a non-TG friend who moved from Canada back to Poland, will contact him for you and ask what he uses there.

House, after completely spacing out -"Oh... uhhh I was just practicing for when BF2:BC comes out, lets spawn on frozen!"

Distance is more important, that's for sure, but technical things have some influence too. On these forums Lyramion was explaining FastPath – an option to disable some error correction procedures in order to benefit from better ping, but this option is only for ADSL coonections and not every ISP wants to enable it. ISP servers and cable infrastructure are probably important too.

I'm not surprised there are not many people from Poland here (if any). Every piece of advice is appreciated.

I play on a lot of servers with a ping the same as yours, I'm in Alaska. I just use rockets a LOT, and really, really try to shoot people in the back. Lowest I ever see my ping go is 90.

I wish my ping was lower, but I'm pretty far away from most of the servers, and the cabling probably isn't the best.
