Windows 7 x64 laggy?
My 64 bit Windows 7 installation with 4GB and a dual core E8400 is lagging badly when running BF2142. The frame rate drops way down as if some device is getting real slow. I have the following hardware
Mobo Gigabyte P35-DS3R
Graphics GeForce 8800GTS
Sound Razer Barracuda AC-1
Any idea what could be the reason? I am not happy with W7 right now. Things were quite smooth with Vista 32.

Re: Windows 7 x64 laggy?
Hmm, my buddy just got win7 64-bit and 2142 runs great. Have you tried things like compatibility mode? I know on my Vista laptop disabling the "superfetch" service fixed many of my 2142 problems, maybe try one of those.

Try the compatibility mode. Also going in and clicking "run as admin" worked for me.

Re: Windows 7 x64 laggy?
I'm running Win7 x64 and don't have to run in compat mode, but I did run as an admin - no issues so far.

Re: Windows 7 x64 laggy?
I set the compatibility level to XP SP3 and run as admin. Now connecting to a server says 'connection lost' and trying again the game hangs with the music playing in a loop. :-(

turn off the compatibility and just use the run as admin option. That is what is working for me.

Are you running any processes in the background while playing?
