2142 dsnt detect my internet connection?

my game just crashed a while ago and now when i try to log in it tells me that it dsnt detect an internet connection. my connection is fine though, same as always.

my game crashes sometimes after its been running for a long period of time, but never experienced any other problem with the game.
    what could have caused this?

EDIT: after a while playing offline mode, it detected the connection. i have to go into offline mode and wait a while for the game to pick up on the connection. this takes around 5 min or so
when i click yes to connect to the server, it keeps telling me unable to connect. after couple dozen retry's it finally connects. pssing me off.

i restarted the game many times, and it always does the same thing now

what kind of internet setup do you have:
router, isp, is it wireless or wired connection? do you have multiple network connections on your comp? try disabling the ones you aren't using. do you have a firewall?

i have a starbridge router. most of the time i have my laptop on the wired connection but sometimes i move around on the wireless. my isp is setar Aruba n.v. (yea not american).
i had multiple connections on yesterday, i was walking around with the wireless and then came to my desk and connected the wire aswell with the wireless still turned on... i later disabled the wireless though.
